Easy Apple Glazed Donuts

27 Nov

Above are some delicious Apple Donuts from Minnetonka Apple Orchard in Minnetonka, MN. I LOVE Minnesota Apple season! Orchards make everything from Apple brats to Apple ice cream. My favorite are always the apple donuts and of course picking fresh apples. It’s so sad that apple season is only 2 months long! Today I wanted those apple donuts, so I made my own version.

Apple Glazed Donuts

  • 1 can refrigerator biscuits
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • Dash of ground ginger
  • Dash of Nutmeg
  • Tsp of Cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp apple juice
  • 3 cups canola oil

Remove the biscuits from the can and place onto a cutting board. Using a small cookie cutter remove the center from each biscuit. Place both the donuts and donut holes onto a sheet pan and allow them to rest about 15 minutes.

In a large bowl combine powdered sugar, spices, and apple juice. Whisk together until smooth and well combined..Heat the oil, in a  pot over medium heat, to 350 degrees F. Fry the donuts, 3 at a time, until golden brown, about 1 minute per side. Remove from oil and place on a sheet tray lined with a paper towel.Repeat with remaining donuts and donut holes. Dip  each donut into the prepared glaze and place on a tray lined with tinfoil. Let glaze dry and enjoy.
